“The Colorado Department of Education is the administrative arm of the Colorado State Board of Education. CDE serves Colorado’s 178 local school districts, providing them with leadership, consultation and administrative services on a statewide and regional basis.

CDE is made up of more than 40 offices, 25 programs and 300-plus staff members, all pursuing the department’s organizational commitment. In keeping with this commitment, the department not only administers K-12 public education, but also the state library system, family/adult literacy efforts and the Colorado School for the Deaf and the Blind

This is a popular site for parents across the country. It is authored by Peter Wright, a special education attorney, and his wife, Pamela, a therapist.

Chapter 22 (“Creating Paper Trails”) in the book entitled From Emotions to Advocacy, by Peter and Pamela Wright (Harbor House Law Press, Inc., 2008), begins with the following quotation from Mr. Wright: “If it was not written down, it was not said. If it was not written down, it did not happen.” The authors provide advice in a similar vein: “Train yourself to write things down! If you have a dispute with the school, your contact log is independent evidence that supports your memory.”
