Attorney– Medicaid & Disability Rights
ADVOCACYDENVER is seeking a passionate attorney to join our team in supporting individuals with disabilities. This role focuses on empowering clients to navigate complex public benefit systems, particularly Medicaid, while promoting equity, self-determination, and inclusion.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one advocacy for individuals with disabilities.
- Assist clients in understanding and navigating the Medicaid benefit system.
- Represent individuals in Medicaid appeal proceedings, including preparation of legal documents.
- Manage office procedures to support triage, intake, case tracking, and representation.
- Maintain a case database, ensuring accurate records of status and outcomes.
- Facilitate communication between clients and public or administrative agencies.
- Promote and support person-centered lanning practices.
- Advocate at the local and state level to advance the rights of individuals with disabilities.
- Mitigate conflict and address communication concerns with professionalism and respect.
- Identify opportunities for program improvement and recommend constructive changes.
- Stay current on disability issues, public benefit systems, laws, and regulations.
- Provide training and information sessions for clients, families, and the broader community.
