Adaptive and inclusive climbing, rappelling and zip lining. Camps are in the summer and respites throughout the year for people of all ages with all types of disabilities.
Provides workshops and classes that are geared towards teenage girls’ health, empowerment and well-being. Programs are offered in summer and during the school year. No specific programming for youth with disabilities; work to include youth with disabilities in the program. The building is wheelchair accessible.
Phamaly Theatre Company (formerly known as The Physically Handicapped Actors & Musical Artists League) produces professional scale plays and musicals year-round throughout the Denver Metro region, cast entirely of performers with disabilities across the spectrum.
Adaptive Recreation — Denver Parks & Recreation (DPR) offers therapeutic programs for people with disabilities at any age. Through numerous leisure activities, Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialists (CTRS) and other DPR team members create opportunities to improve quality of life, foster independence and boost self-esteem. A variety of adapted recreational activities are offered to people with disabilities including Special Olympics, horseback riding, skiing, etc. TRAC is also available to help people with disabilities integrate into standard recreation center programs.
Provides a variety of outdoor and sports activities including skiing, soccer, rock climbing, etc. for children, youth and adults with disabilities.
Atlantis Community & ADAPT work to help people with disabilities to live in the community with real supports instead of being placed in nursing homes and other institutions. They will support with filling out paper work for services. Call their front desk to get updates on programs.
FRIENDS of Broomfield is dedicated to enhancing communities by creating opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities through an innovative and person centered approach. They offer day programs, residential services, and social and travel programs
Community Centered Board, serving the City and County of Denver, providing supports for children and adults with intellectual and developmental delays and disabilities. The Family Support Services Program offers service coordination to assist with accessing the program and other resources, resource pamphlet of community agencies and educational workshops. Limited financial assistance is available for such things as: respite care, professional services, medical and dental care, transportation, assistive technology, home modifications and parent and sibling support.
