9Health Fair Results

I would like to recognize our Volunteer Coordinators for this 9Health Fair – Larry Ballonoff, Elizabeth Casswell, Sally Tanner, Shane Sanford, Catherine Strode, Renee9news_1 Buteyn, Carissa Casswell, Cecilia Gutierrez, and Kaley Day!  Each one of you made our faira wonderful and memorable event!  Thank you!

Total Volunteers on the Day of the Event: 106 (50 Medical, 56 NonMedical)

Volunteers that received sensitivity training and the People First Language article:
126 electronically, 10 in person/via phone conference.

Additionally the entire 9Health Fair staff received the electronic training.

We received unanimous positive feedback on the training.9news_2

Attendees: Approximately 366

  • 326 people paid for tests (blood tests and colon cancer screening kits)
  • Approximately 40 more attended without paying (for access to all of the free screenings, information tables and wellness zone)

In addition to the paid tests, we did…

124 blood pressure screenings (26 needed further evaluation)9news_3
23 Diabetes risk screenings (12 needed further evaluation)
19 foot screenings (none needed further evaluation)
78 Vision & eye health screenings (31 needed further evaluation)

38 Breast exams (6 needed further evaluation)
58 Oral health screenings (48 needed further evaluation)
79 participants in the Heart Smart People screening
17 participants signed up to receive more information from the Diabetes Prevention Program after their screening

The National Alliance on Mental Illness and Delete Bone Cancer tables were also very popular (we do not have counts from these tables.)

People with disabilities:9news_4

Approximately 50-60 people with a disability attended the fair, approximately 100% of those with disabilities attended after 10am(we had no people self-identifying as having a disability before 10am)

Exit Survey Results:

92% of the attendees liked the layout of the fair

Of the people who went into the Wellness Zone, 100% enjoyed it (approximately 55% of the attendees went to the Wellness Zone.)

Wellness Zone participants:

  • Reflexology
  • Massage
  • Laugh Therapy
  • Urban Gardening
  • Natural Grocers Nutritionist

60% of the people who attended gained or learned something (the bulk of the people who didn’t gain or learn something said they just came for the blood draw)

100% of the attendees said that the volunteers and screeners were friendly and helpful
