One of Colorado’s long term policy goals is to be the healthiest state in the nation. The Medicaid expansion is making quality health care available to more of the state’s residents. However, one ailment often goes undiagnosed before it kills: suicide. Suicide rates in Colorado have been rising for the past seven years. Currently, Colorado is at the top of the list for suicides, ranking seventh highest nationwide. What is being done to prevent suicides among our state’s population?

The Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce’s President and Chief Executive Officer, Kelly Brough, is weighing in on the economic impact of Colorado’s upcoming November ballot issues. She says the Chamber will campaign to defeat Amendment 69, which would make Colorado the only state in the nation to adopt a single payer health care system. In an interview with Catherine Strode, Kelly Brough discusses two other issues the Chamber would like to see on the ballot: creating a Hospital Enterprise Fund and bringing back a Presidential Primary.

The head of school explains students are
provided instruction in grade level curriculum.
For behavior, the facility uses a daily and
ongoing level system. All students are
required to have five behavior goals. The
privilege earned for the day is in accordance
with points earned; if the student is able to
demonstrate appropriate behavior over the
course of time, they earn additional privileges….
